Buy the best laptops under $300-2015? Is that possible? Certainly!  With laptops becoming the norm, the question becomes: how much do I spend on a laptop? The answer – it depends on what you are looking for.  If you are still uncertain, take into consideration what you’d like to do with said laptop. Is it for gaming? Is it for office work? Just some web browsing? This article will help you decide how much you really need to spend to get one of the best laptops for a modest amount of money.

For roughly $300 you can buy a laptop – such as the Dell Inspiron, Lenovo Ideapad, the Chrome laptop, or the ASUS laptop. All of these options are available for a modest price and serve to meet the needs of their users. These laptops are great as they have the ability to multitask in different office programs. Internet browsing is not a problem with any of these laptops. However, if you plan on buying a laptop for Skyrim, World of Warcraft, or any other games that require high resolution and memory – these laptops wouldn’t be best. The processors for these laptops aren’t terrible – however for awesome graphics and game play – these are certainly not your best bet.

HP Stream 11 LaptopThe HP Stream 13 Laptop is trendy and was designed for easy travel. The main aspects that make it such a catch is its mobility and feature that allow for simplicity.  The laptop is user friendly  and good for smaller games – such as Minecraft but nothing much more than that.  Almost all customers of this laptop are satisfied with its capabilities – especially with the speaker system of the laptop.

No.2.ASUS X551MAV-EB01-B(S) 15.6-Inch Intel Dual Core Celeron 2.16 Ghz Laptop

ASUS 15.6-Inch X-Series NotebookThis ASUS laptop has a 500 GB hard drive – a great amount of storage for under $300. The battery life of this laptop is significantly higher than most – 5 hours. The dual-core power of this laptop allows for an increased amount of multitasking and is great for those who use the computer for chatting with family, social media sites and watching videos. Perfect for the college student.  The main issue with the ASUS laptop is that the keyboard is tiny and proves to be problematic for some typists. This laptop also does not have a CD/DVD slot – so watching movies is out unless you have a streaming account online like Netflix.

No.3.Toshiba CB35-B3340 13.3-Inch Chromebook 2 (Full-HD Screen)

TosToshiba CB35-B3340 dealhiba’s Chromebook 2 has been redesigned and is now even better-equipped to help you get your business done faster and be entertained anywhere. There’s nothing complicated to learn. It starts up in seconds and stays up to date on its own. It’s ready to work, ready to play and ready to go, right out of the box.

Technical Specs

Processors 2.16 GHz Intel Celeron
RAM 4GB DDR3 RAM
Screen Size 13.3 inches
Screen Resolution 1920×1080
Hard Drive 16 GB Solid-State Drive
Graphics Coprocessor Intel HD graphics
Optical Drive No
Operating System Chrome
Weight 2.95 pounds

ProsToshiba CB35-B3340 reviewChromebook 2’s 13.3-inch screen is pristine. It’s bright, it’s high-definition and it has great viewing angles. Netflix is amazing on this computer. However, the audio is a little lacking. Coming from under the keyboard, it’s flat and muted, lacking the “sparkle” I’ve noticed in other notebooks. Its body is small and light—and fanless. It also retains the first model’s pseudo-aluminum inner texture. The casing has great grip and resistance to fingerprints and smudging—far better than the ASUS and Samsung.

Cons

The 2.16GHz Intel Celeron processor is slightly slower at loading heavy pages like Google Maps and is less capable of intensive multitasking (i.e., playing a YouTube video or music while loading other pages). It’s an acceptable trade for the $299 price point. When the processor isn’t multitasking, 1080p videos stream flawlessly. Battery life clocks in at between 9 and 12 hours, depending on what you’re processing. Other than the speed issue when processing several heavy pages simultaneously, Toshiba has done a tremendous job here.
